About Olivia

Olivia Munk was born and raised in Queens, NYC. Educated at Harvard and Oxford, she is Artistic Director of Part of the Main Productions, a Pleasance London Associate Company and winner of VAULT Festival’s Excellence in Accessibility Award.

Directing credits include The Tinker (VAULT Festival); Biosphere (Pleasance); Green & Pleasant Land (Miniaturists, Arcola); Beg For Me (Mountview Catalyst Festival, Pleasance, Camden People's Theatre); Bloody Mary: Live!  (Shortlisted for the Les Enfants Terribles Award and OffFEST Award; performed at various NYC venues including People’s Improv Theatre, Caveat, Club Cumming; performed in the UK at Assembly Festival at Coventry City of Culture, Pleasance EdFringe, VAULT Festival, Old Joint Stock Theatre, Crewe Lyceum, Harlow Playhouse); Populist  (R&D, Phoenix Arts Club); and The End Of Us and Going Outside  (The Space, TwoFest).

Associate/assisting/script supervision credits include Ride (Charing Cross Theatre, Leicester Curve, and Southwark Playhouse, Associate to dir. Sarah Meadows); The Coven (Short film, Script Supervisor to writer/director Gemma Aked-Priestly); The Blue Room (Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Assistant to dir. Jason Lawson); Tumulus  (Soho Theatre, Assistant to dir. Matthew Steinberg);  Heathers (Assistant to Creative Team, The Other Palace & Theatre Royal Haymarket, dir. Andy Fickman); and Waitress ( American Repertory Theatre, Directing Intern to dir. Diane Paulus).

In 2022, Olivia was longlisted for the JMK Award and shortlisted for VAULT Five. She has been funded by Arts Council England's 'Developing Your Creative Practice' programme to develop her creative access practice and explore Artistic Direction. In 2021, Olivia was selected to attend the European Theatre Convention's Theatre Academy at Festival d'Avignon in France. She was a member of Fuel Theatre and the Greater London Authority's 'Creative Freelancers: Shaping London's Recovery' 2021 cohort, and was completed Clore Leadership's Emerging Leaders Course in 2023. In 2023 Olivia joined playwright Isabel Dixon to become Co-Curator of The Miniaturists, London's longest-running short play night. Recently, Olivia completed Catalyst, the North Wall’s new writing residency in Oxford. She is a member of the North Wall’s ArtsLab Network.

As a producer, Olivia has produced work with the Barbican, Soho Theatre, The Pleasance, Camden People's Theatre, The Park, Wandsworth Arts Fringe, Theatre503, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, VAULT Festival, Waltham Forest Council and Coventry City of Culture. Her work has been both nominated for and won Off West End Awards and shortlisted for the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence. She was a Senior Producer at Zoo Co, a theatre charity in Croydon championing deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists and audiences, securing the company NPO status in 2022.

A recipient of a Global Talent Visa to work as an artist in the UK, Olivia lives in South London with her corgi, Evie.
